Revolut Business
Multi-currency business account with one of the best mobile apps in fintech
- 25+ currencies — hold, exchange, and receive payments
- Unlimited virtual cards with spending controls
- Instant transfers to personal Revolut account — even on weekends
- Excellent mobile app — manage everything from your phone
- Plans from $10/month for most needs
From $0/mo
I use Revolut Business for my own LLC, and I also use Revolut personally. The combination is one of the main reasons I recommend it — being able to instantly move money from my business account to my personal account, even on weekends, is something no traditional bank offers.
The mobile app is genuinely excellent. It’s one of the best-designed banking apps I’ve used, and as someone who manages their business from a phone in the Philippines or wherever I happen to be, that matters.
What is Revolut Business?
Revolut was founded in 2015 in the UK and has grown to over 45 million customers. Revolut Business is their offering for companies — multi-currency accounts, team cards, expense management, and international payments, all managed from a single app.

Why I Use It
Instant Personal ↔ Business Transfers
This is the killer feature for me. With Mercury or Relay, transferring money to your personal account means an ACH transfer that takes 1-2 business days — and doesn’t work on weekends. With Revolut, I tap “Send to [my name]” and the money is in my personal Revolut account instantly. Saturday night, Sunday morning, doesn’t matter.
For a solo LLC owner, this is how you pay yourself without waiting.
The Mobile App
I’m not exaggerating when I say Revolut has the best mobile banking app I’ve used. Everything — transfers, card management, currency exchange, expense tracking — is fast, intuitive, and well-designed. When you’re running a business from your phone across time zones, this matters more than you’d think.
Multi-Currency
Hold and exchange 25+ currencies. If you receive EUR from a European client, it sits in your EUR balance until you decide to convert it. Exchange rates are competitive — not quite as good as Wise, but close, and the convenience of having everything in one app can be worth the small difference.
Key Features
Virtual & Physical Cards
- Create unlimited virtual cards for online subscriptions and purchases
- Issue physical cards — Revolut ships internationally
- Set spending limits per card
- Freeze/unfreeze cards instantly from the app
- Disposable virtual cards for one-time purchases (good for security)
International Payments
- Send money in 25+ currencies
- Local bank details available in multiple countries (GBP, EUR, USD)
- Competitive exchange rates with transparent fees
- Scheduled and recurring payments
Expense Management
- Categorize transactions automatically
- Attach receipts to transactions (snap a photo in the app)
- Export to accounting software
- Team expense policies and approval workflows
Plans & Pricing
| Plan | Monthly Cost | International Transfers | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 | 5 free/month | Testing it out |
| Grow | $25 | 10 free/month | Most solo LLC owners |
| Scale | $100 | 50 free/month | Growing teams |
| Enterprise | Custom | Unlimited | High volume |
I pay around $10/month on the Grow plan — it covers everything I need. The free plan is fine to start with, but you’ll likely want Grow for the extra international transfers and priority support.
Opening a Revolut Business Account
- Download the Revolut Business app or apply at business.revolut.com
- Verify your identity — Selfie + ID verification in the app
- Verify your business — Upload LLC documents
- Get approved — Usually within a few days
Required Documents
- Registered US LLC (Articles of Organization)
- EIN
- Government-issued ID (passport)
- Proof of address
Important Note on Eligibility
Revolut’s requirements for non-US resident owners can be stricter than Mercury or Relay. They may require a US-based beneficial owner or director in some cases. Policies change — check their current requirements before applying.
If you get rejected, Mercury is the easier alternative for non-residents.
Revolut Business vs. Revolut Personal
If you already use Revolut personally, the business account integrates seamlessly:
- Instant transfers between business and personal accounts, 24/7
- Same app — switch between personal and business with a tap
- Shared contacts — send to the same people from either account
- Consistent UX — no learning curve if you know one, you know both
This is genuinely the biggest advantage over Mercury + a separate personal bank. The friction of moving money between your business and personal life drops to zero.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Best-in-class mobile app
- Instant business ↔ personal transfers (24/7, including weekends)
- Multi-currency (25+ currencies)
- Unlimited virtual cards
- Competitive exchange rates
- Physical cards shipped internationally
Cons:
- Stricter eligibility for non-residents than Mercury
- Customer support can be slow on lower-tier plans
- Free plan is limited (5 international transfers/month)
- No FDIC insurance in the traditional sense (funds held under EU e-money regulations)
- No credit card product (Mercury has the IO card)
Revolut Business vs. Mercury vs. Wise

| Monthly fee | $0-$25 | $0 | $0 |
| Multi-currency | Yes (25+) | No (USD only) | Yes (40+) |

| Instant personal transfer | Yes (24/7) | No (ACH, 1-2 days) | No |
| Mobile app quality | Excellent | Good | Good |

| Best for | Daily operations + personal | Primary US banking | International payments |
My Recommended Setup
I use Mercury as my primary US bank (FDIC insured, IO credit card, free wires) and Revolut Business for daily operations and paying myself. If you receive a lot of international payments in non-USD currencies, add Wise Business for the best exchange rates.
You don’t need all three — Mercury + Revolut covers most needs. Add Wise only if you regularly receive EUR/GBP from clients.
