My Story

I'm Chris Natterer. I have an engineering background, and I've been location-independent since 2016 — living and working across Colombia, Georgia, Southeast Asia, and beyond.

Along the way, I've owned companies in multiple jurisdictions, bought real estate abroad, opened bank accounts in more countries than I can count, and made plenty of expensive mistakes. Every structure I recommend, every tradeoff I explain — I've lived through the real version of it.

I started Globalization Guide because I kept seeing the same pattern: services that either abandon you after formation, or sell you an ideology instead of a structure. The formation-only services process your paperwork and move on. The "tax freedom" crowd sells you a dream without doing the actual work. Neither approach serves the kind of people I want to work with.

How I Work

I approach international business structures the way an engineer approaches a system: break it into components, understand how they connect, evaluate the tradeoffs, and build it right.

A lot of my work is making sure you're asking the right questions before making any moves. What entity type fits your situation? Which jurisdiction makes sense? What are the compliance requirements? What does your personal tax picture look like?

Once we've figured out the right structure, I handle the setup and ongoing maintenance — formation, EIN, annual filings, compliance. You don't get handed a plan and wished good luck. I do the work.

What I Believe

I don't oversell the international lifestyle and I don't ignore the downsides. Going global is a considered decision, not an escape plan. The best reason to structure your life abroad isn't to avoid taxes — it's to find new experiences and opportunities.

I believe in building real businesses, setting up compliant structures, and giving honest advice — even when the honest answer is "you don't need my service."
